About Us

Hermano Pedro Social Works Foundation, USA was founded in 2001 to serve as the fundraising and communication arm in the United States for the Obras Sociales del Santo Hermano Pedro (Las Obras). The current Director of Las Obras, in Guatemala, serves as the president of the U.S. Foundation Board of Directors and both U.S. and Guatemalan citizens serve on the U.S. Foundation Board as volunteers.

In addition to providing financial and fundraising support to Las Obras, the U.S. Foundation communicates with supporters in the U.S., many of whom have visited or volunteered in Guatemala. Thanks to our volunteers, board members, close collaboration with Las Obras, and the generous administrative support from Franciscan Mission Associates, the Foundation has nominal overhead and no paid employees. Donations go directly to Las Obras outreach programs and services.
